
Anita Thompson is a Professor in the Biological Systems Engineering Department and Ken Potter Professor of Water Resources in the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) at the University of Wisconsin (UW) – Madison. She is Chair of the NIES Water Resources Management Program and holds Affiliate Faculty appointments in Agroecology and Environmental Chemistry & Technology at the UW – Madison. Her research in watershed engineering and management focuses on: 1) watershed-scale hydrologic and water quality impacts of land use and management, 2) wintertime hydrologic/erosion processes, and 3) urban hydrology and storm water management. Thompson’s teaching includes undergraduate and graduate courses in the topical areas of watershed engineering, water management system design, water supply, non-point source pollution, and interdisciplinary water resources management.
